About Colorado Animal Rescue

Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s sole remains unawakened

The Colorado Animal Rescue shelter was built in 2000. Since that time we have taken in over 5,130 animals. Nearby Colorado Mountain College graciously leased the land for the shelter at a minimum cost.

In return, the shelter is periodically used by staff and students in the college's Veterinary Technology program. The college also offers a certificate program in Animal Shelter Management, one of the fastest growing fields in animal care.

CARE Projects and Services

The projects and services provided by CARE are supported by membership contributions, bequests, and grants. Our continued strength depends upon the generosity of our members and donors.

We inform community members about various issues, projects, and our progress through periodic mailings, our web site and other reports. We invite all members of the community to get involved as contributors, shelter volunteers, and animal advocates.
