Thank you for considering Colorado Animal Rescue Shelter for your next animal companion! C.A.R.E. has many dogs and cats looking for forever homes. Our adoption process carefully matches companion pets to the best possible home. We strive for 100% placement of adoptable animals with a knowledgable staff to assist you with your new pet.

Our cat/kitten adoption fee is $100 and includes: spay/neuter surgery, Feline Distemper vaccine, basic de-worming, testing for Feline Leukemia (FeLV)and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), a bag of Science Diet food, and a micro-chip implant.

Our dog/puppy adoption fee is $150 and includes: spay/neuter surgery, distemper combo vaccine, basic de-worming, corona vaccine for puppies, bag of Science Diet food, and a micro-chip implant.

The adoption application takes 24 hours to process. Like the majority of shelters and rescues in Colorado, we are not a "same day" adoption facility. We require 24 hours to process your application. This allows us time to update the animal's file, prepare necessary paperwork, and make sure the animal is up to date on vaccinations, etc. We also encourage adopters to use this time to prepare their home for the animal and buy the necessary supplies.
