Care Canine Training Program (No Experience Needed!):

Foster Care:

Have you ever wanted to care for a pet, but weren’t able to permanently? C.A.R.E. has just the opportunity for you! Take a dog, cat, or a litter home with you to give them a vacation from the shelter. C.A.R.E. supplies everything you need (toys, bowls, food, etc.), you just supply the love.

When: Typically, we always has an animal in need of foster care. The time commitment varies depending on the animal. Please ask to speak with our Foster Care Coordinator, Payton, for more details.

Special Events:

Help handle animals and talk to customers at off-site events. We hold adopt-a-thons and fundraiser throughout the year and we always need help! You can also help transport animals, post fliers, and assist with sponsorship requests.

When: C.A.R.E. hosts and attends up to 60 events per year. Expect monthly emails notifying you when we have upcoming events, and sign up as you have time.

Day Hike with a Dog:

Take a hike and experience the best of the Roaring Fork Valley with a four-legged friend. Come by and we will provide you with a dog in need of some exercise and outside stimulation.

When: 10:30-4:00 7 days a week. Please call ahead to see what dogs are available for a day hike.

Transport:

Colorado Animal Rescue is always in need of volunteers to help transport animals to events, pick up donations, and sometimes transport animals to other shelters as part of our shelter transfer program.

When: Transport will be needed on a sporadic basis. A staff member will reach out to you as needed if you choose to sign up for this opportunity.

Help the animals in our care by donating to the shelter! Your gift, no matter how big or small, will improve the lives of homeless & abandoned animals within our community and beyond. Thanks so much for your support!
