The Pet Food Pantry at C.A.R.E. helps families in Garfield County keep their pets fed and cared for in their homes, and is intended to assist as a supplemental program for those facing challenges to supply nutritious meals to their dogs and cats.

If you’re in need of pet food or supplies:

  • C.A.R.E.’s Pet Pantry is on-site at our Glenwood Springs shelter location and is open for anyone in our community and neighboring communities. Please call ahead when able to ensure we can meet your pet’s needs with our current food supply and check out our shelter operating hours.
  • Free pet supplies are also available on-site at our shelter, and often include leashes, collars, dishes, crates, beds, toys, puppy pads, etc. Check out our current stock of donated pet supplies in our shelter entryway.
  • Our pet pantry is a proud supporter of local partners at Food Bank of the Rockies, LIFT-UP, and Meals on Wheels through regular community pet food distributions.
  • Donations are always appreciated and put to good use! We are able to accept dry and wet dog and cat food in their original packaging and in-date (not expired). Head on up to the shelter to donate or drop off at our collection bin outside of R.J. Paddywacks in El Jebel.
  • Gently used supplies are also accepted to benefit both shelter and community pets (leashes, collars, dishes, crates, beds, toys, puppy pads)(at this time we are unable to accept pillows, comforters, or any beds or toys with holes/tears).
  • Consider becoming a Hunger Hero! If you’re interested in sponsoring our Pet Food Pantry, check out our full sponsorship menu here (Hunger Hero information is on the last page of the menu)

Help the animals in our care by donating to the shelter! Your gift, no matter how big or small, will improve the lives of homeless & abandoned animals within our community and beyond. Thanks so much for your support!
