Alvin

Big Al is ready for his new home!
Alvin is a beautiful purebred St. Bernard who is guessed to be about 1.5 years old and is 145 pounds. He is a big boy with a huge head! This overgrown pup loves a good run/play but also is great at lounging around.  He is good with most other dogs but can be selective however he loves cats and is great with them. He will come with 2 free training sessions if needed. He has lived peacefully with other dogs but will need proper introductions as he can be selective.
Alvin will need an experienced person with large breed dogs and even better someone who ‘gets’ Saint Bernards. His foster dad loves him and he said this boy is magical! He needs a fenced in backyard to lounge in and would love to be in a cooler climate. A property with some acreage would be ideal but he will roam without a fence. He would love a horse property and is excellent with horses! Alvin is used to following two horses on trail ride for a 3-5 mile trek with other dogs. Alvin will gently paw you for attention and can get ‘mouthy’ but is learning not to do this. He is really sweet and good with kids but may be too much for toddlers. Great eyes and markings, very handsome! Good in the car. Loves going for walks, will turn heads wherever he goes. He is currently in a foster home in the Denver area. LuckyDayRescue.org to apply!

Rebel

Rebel is in many ways a great dog. Rebel is house trained, under voice control, and knows many commands. She is loyal to her person, and is really good on leash. I am looking to re-home Rebel because she is not always good with other dogs. She has had some conflict with my partners dog and we can no longer trust them together alone and therefore don’t think it is a good lifestyle for Rebel to be in a crate or wearing a muzzle all the time.

Good fits for Rebel would be a home with lots of property for her to go and explore, no other animals like dogs and cats in the house. A ranch would probably be great for her. She would either need a large space to run or an owner who likes to get out and be active. On trails and such she has never had an issue with other dogs, she recalls well. Her only other downfall is she will eat anything that she can get to! Including banana peels, flour bags and anything that is on the edge of a counter or in a backpack or bag on the ground.

She is overall healthy and happy, she does like to greet people with a lot of energy but could be trained out of her. She loves her crate and feels safe in there even when she is not forced to be in it when we leave her alone with another dog. Barks minimally only when people come to the door. Very friendly with people, loves to give kisses and jumps up to do so from time to time.

She is good with kids, great in cars and camping. She is high energy, but when it is time to relax she does so comfortably in her bed, crate, or next to you on the couch or bed.

Josie

5-Year-Old Husky Looking for a Loving Home

Josie is a beautiful, sweet-natured Husky who came to us through Colorado Animal Rescue (CARE) in Glenwood Springs after being saved from a Denver kill shelter. She is friendly with everyone she meets, wonderfully quiet (a non-barker, with just the occasional small howl), and loves being around people. She is good with children and gets along well with other dogs, though very small dogs may be at a disadvantage due to her size and play style.

Josie is spayed, up to date on shots, weighs about 60 pounds, and is in excellent health. She thrives on daily exercise and would do best in a home where she has room to run and play.

Ideal home: An active family or individual who can provide Josie with daily exercise, companionship, and room to run. We want to make sure she finds a loving home that can give her the space, activity, and attention she needs. Please call or text me – Rachel Nelson at 970-201-6188 or email me at [email protected]
