The Pet Food Pantry at C.A.R.E. helps families in Garfield County keep their pets fed and cared for in their homes, and is intended to assist as a supplemental program for those facing challenges to supply nutritious meals to their dogs and cats.
If you’re in need of pet food or supplies:
- C.A.R.E.’s Pet Pantry is on-site at our Glenwood Springs shelter location. Please call ahead when able to ensure we can meet your pet’s needs with our current food supply and check out our shelter operating hours.
- Pet supplies are available on-site at our shelter as well, and often include leashes, collars, dishes, crates, beds, toys, puppy pads, etc. Check out our current stock of donated pet supplies in our shelter entryway.
- Our pet pantry has also gone mobile to support community members throughout the valley. C.A.R.E. partners with LIFT-UP on a quarterly basis during the months of March, June, September, and December during LIFT-UP’s regular mobile food distributions from Parachute through Carbondale. Times and locations are set at the beginning of each month and posted on our website events page.
- C.A.R.E. is a proud supporter of our local Meals on Wheels and supplies their program with dog and cat food to ensure member’s pets are also getting the food and nutrition they need, delivered right to their doors.
If you’d like to donate:
- Donations are always appreciated and put to good use! We are able to accept dry and wet dog and cat food in their original packaging and in-date (not expired). Head on up to the shelter to donate or drop off at our collection bin outside of R.J. Paddywacks in El Jebel.
- Gently used supplies are also accepted to benefit both shelter and community pets (leashes, collars, dishes, crates, beds, toys, puppy pads)(at this time we are unable to accept pillows, comforters, or any beds or toys with holes/tears).
