The holidays are here, and at C.A.R.E., that means the Holiday Open House Weekend is back! We’re also launching a new campaign, Snowflakes for Shelter Pets. This season is all about warmth, generosity, and celebrating the pets who make our community feel like home—and we’re inviting everyone to join the festive fun!

Our shelter transforms into a winter wonderful for one joyful weekend each December. It’s a simple, heartwarming way to connect with our mission and spread holiday cheer to the animals who are spending the season with us while waiting for their forever homes.
Snowflakes for Shelter Pets

For our 25th anniversary, you can purchase a $25 Snowflake to support our shelter pets. Every Snowflake is displayed at the shelter (with your first name on it!), creating a flurry of love from supporters near and far.

Paws & Claus: A Community Pet Food & Supply Drive
This year, we’re thrilled to partner with Sopris Lodge and the Carbondale Fire Department who are hosting a “Paws & Claus” collection drive to help keep local pets fed and cared for through the coldest months.
You can drop off donations now through December 19 at:

- Carbondale Fire Department
