Helping Local Pets Stay Healthy, Loved, and Home

 In News

At Colorado Animal Rescue (C.A.R.E.), we believe every pet deserves the chance to live a healthy, happy life. One of the simplest, and most effective, ways to make that possible is through spay and neuter.

Our Dove Fund was created to make spay/neuter surgeries more accessible for pet owners right here in Garfield County. Through this program, C.A.R.E. provides $50 vouchers to help cover the cost of spay/neuter procedures at any participating veterinary clinic within the county.

These vouchers are designed for community members who already have a surgery appointment scheduled for their pet. Once confirmed, C.A.R.E. sends the voucher directly to the clinic, making it simple, supportive, and stress-free.

The impact of spay and neuter reaches far beyond a single surgery:

  • It reduces pet overpopulation, keeping shelters from becoming overcrowded.
  • It prevents serious health conditions like infections and certain cancers.
  • It reduces risky behaviors that can lead to injury or surrender.

In short, spay and neuter saves lives! And thanks to the Dove Fund, more families in our community can take this important step for their pets’ wellbeing.

This program is made possible with generous support from the Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund (CPOF), whose partnership helps extend affordable spay/neuter access to families across Colorado. Their ongoing investment allows C.A.R.E. to continue serving both pets and people, keeping more beloved companions healthy, loved, and home.

If you or someone you know lives in Garfield County and would like to request a Dove Fund voucher, please call 970-947-9173 or email [email protected].

Together, we’re creating a community where every pet has the care (and the home) they deserve!
