Meet the Wiggly Wagon!
There’s a new set of wheels rolling around the Roaring Fork Valley, and you may have already spotted it!
The Wiggly Wagon is the newest addition to C.A.R.E.’s fleet, helping our team transport shelter pets, travel to events throughout the valley, support community outreach, and keep up with the many places our work takes us each week.
And while its name is fun, the need behind it is very real.
Why Two Vehicles Matter
Earlier this year, C.A.R.E.’s donated Toyota Highlander reached the end of the road. While our Critter Cruiser continues to be an important part of our work, one vehicle simply isn’t enough to keep up with everything happening at C.A.R.E.
Transfers are an important part of C.A.R.E.’s work, helping pets from overcrowded shelters make their way to C.A.R.E. and, ultimately, new homes. Because of the medical resources available at C.A.R.E., we’re also able to welcome transfer pets who may need additional veterinary care before they’re ready for adoption. In 2026 alone, C.A.R.E. has welcomed nearly 200 pets through our transfer program. Those trips require reliable transportation, and they’re just one of the many reasons having two vehicles matters.

On any given day, one team member might be picking up pets from a partner shelter while someone else is headed to a community event. We may need to pick up pet food or supplies while the Critter Cruiser is already in use, or take a shelter dog out for behavior work while a cat needs a surgical consult at a partner clinic.
Having two vehicles gives our team the flexibility to keep moving, and the Wiggly Wagon is already doing just that.

Meet Our First Vehicle Sponsor
The Wiggly Wagon hit the road with some major help from Phil Long Glenwood Springs Subaru, C.A.R.E.’s first-ever vehicle sponsor!
Phil Long contributed $7,500 toward the cost of the Wiggly Wagon, helping make this important investment in C.A.R.E.’s work a reality. Their support of the Wagon comes alongside their partnership with C.A.R.E. during Subaru Loves Pets month this October, when adoption fees for dogs and cats are waived all month long with an approved adoption survey.

We’re incredibly grateful to have a local partner helping C.A.R.E. go father for shelter pets.
Match the Momentum
After Phil Long Glenwood Springs Subaru’s $7,500 contribution, C.A.R.E. invested approximately $19,000 to put the Wiggly Wagon on the road. The vehicle is fully paid for, but we’re inviting our supporters to help offset that investment and keep more resources available for the pets and programs at the heart of our work.
Our goal? Match Phil Long’s $7,500 contribution.
Every gift to Match the Momentum helps us get closer and helps keep the Wiggly Wagon rolling wherever C.A.R.E.’s work takes us next.
Ready to help us reach our $7,500 goal?
